Nadia and Rajeeb Samdani, the couple behind the Dhaka Art Summit, has been nominated with five others for the prestigious Forbes India Art Award under the Young Collector of the Year category, according to a press release. The award recognises an art collector under the age of 50 who has made mark for his or her collection of Indian Art. The criteria of the nominations are: Significant artworks in varied media; promoting experimental and cutting edge art, risk taking ability and playing an active part in the country's art scene with their own ventures.
The Samdanis, who have been supporting art from the region, have successfully established a platform for South Asian artists. Both Nadia and Rajeeb are also involved internationally with organisations to promote and support South Asian Art; they are also the members of the international advisory committee of Colombo Art Biennial.
 Rajeeb is one of the founding Committee Members of Tate Museum's South Asian Acquisition Committee and Nadia is also one of the nominators from Bangladesh for the 'Asia Pacific Breweries Foundation Signature Art Prize 2014'. The APBF Signature Art Prize is a premier juried prize established and organised by the Asia Pacific Breweries Foundation and the Singapore Art Museum.
