President Shahabuddin Ahmed administered the oath of office to the newly appointed Chief Justice, Justice Latifur Rahman, at a simple ceremony at Bangabhaban yesterday, reports UNB.

Cabinet secretary Qazi Shamsul Alam conducted the oath-taking ceremony.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present on the occasion.

Former chief justices Justice Mostafa Kamal, Justice ATM Afzal and Justice Kemaludin, cabinet ministers, judges of the Supreme Court Appellate and High Court Divisions, members of parliament, attorney general, senior advocates, president and general secretary of Supreme Court Bar Association, vice president of Bangladesh Bar Council and high officials were present on the occasion.
