The meeting of the Parliament Standing Committee on Communications Ministry yesterday discussed the issue of additional charges demanded by the construction companies of Bangabandhu Bridge, reports UNB.

Final decision in this regard will be taken after having elaborate discussion in the next meeting of the committee, said a press release.

Presided over by committee chairman Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, the meeting also asked the organisations engaged in maintenance of the bridge, and toll collection activities to play more effective role.

It also asked them to increase manpower for maintenance work and install toll collection machines without further delay.

The committee members Communications Minister Anwar Hossain, Whip SM Mostafa Rashidi (Suja), Mokbul Hossain and M Ruhul Quddus Talukdar were present at the meeting.
