Ex-ACC chairman, 3 others sued over 'false cases' against Khaleda, Tarique

Former chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury and three others were sued today over allegations of filing false and fabricated cases against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
The other accused are ACC commissioners Habibur Rahman and Abul Hasan Monjur Mannan, and former ACC secretary Mokhlesur Rahman.
Md Harun-or Rashid, a law student at a private university, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ziadur Rahman.
Following a hearing, the magistrate recorded the complainant's statement and set May 25 for passing an order, said Hossain Khan Hasan, one of Harun's lawyers.
According to the complaint, Hasan Mashhud and the others filed several cases against Khaleda and Tarique with the intent to harass them politically.
The complainant claimed those cases were later proven to be "false and fabricated".
