The Barista Lavazza Chain of Cafés, an Italian Café Chain began its operations in Bangladesh in the year 2007.  MGH group brought the chain to Bangladesh under MGH Restaurants Private Limited, which is a subsidiary of MGH Group. Barista's entrance added a new element to the Bangladeshi coffee scene, which had just began to understand and appreciate the richness of brewed coffee. Instant coffee soon took a backseat and Barista led from the front.
Barista delivers a truly Italian coffee experience in a warm, friendly and relaxed environment. Italy's largest coffee company, Barista offers not only 100 per cent Arabica coffee beans but also lends an aura of exclusivity and a relaxed demeanour to all 6 of its outlets spread around the city. And on the 8th of July, 2013, Barista inaugurated its seventh outlet, this time at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA). In doing so, Barista has become the first ever international coffee chain to have opened in the capital's airport.
In the inaugurating ceremony, the chief guest present was the Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh, Air Vice Marshal, Mahmud Hussain, ndc, psc and the guest of honour was Edmondo Falconi, Deputy Head of Mission, The Embassy of Italy.
Even at HSIA, Barista maintains the ambience and the flavour for which it has become so well-known. It's spacious, well-lit and quite inviting. The aroma of brewed coffee wafts through the air, indeed a welcome fragrance for weary travels. Its presence further adds another element of class to HSIA.
The next time you enter HSIA feeling jet-lagged and worn out, you know which way to head to. Barista's coffee is waiting for you, just around the corner.
