Hundreds of demonstrators who were protesting demanding the ban of Awami League activities held a joyous procession after the government's decision to ban all activities of the AL, including in cyberspace, under the Anti-Terrorism Act until the trial of the Awami League and its leaders in the International Crimes Tribunal is completed.

During that time, they chanted slogans in front of Hotel InterContinental, near the chief adviser's residence, Jamuna, reports UNB.

Earlier, they blocked Shahbagh intersection for the second consecutive day reiterating their demand for a ban on AL.

While regular traffic remained suspended, emergency vehicles such as ambulances were allowed to pass through the protest site, our DU correspondent reported from the spot.

National Citizen Party along with other political parties, student organisations and protesters injured in the July uprising had been protesting since Thursday seeking a ban on AL and its affiliated organisations.
