Nahid welcomes govt decision to ban AL

National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam today lauded the government for its decision to ban all activities of the Awami League until the completion of the trial of the party and its leaders in the International Crimes Tribunal.

"Congratulations to the revolutionary students and public. Congratulations to the government as well. We want the implementation of all decisions in the near future. However, we must continue our struggle regarding the July declaration and the question of justice," Nahid said in a reaction on Facebook.

"The fascist murderers across the country must be identified and swiftly brought to justice. The Election Commission must quickly revoke the registration of the banned fascist Awami League," he added.

The National Citizen Party along with other parties and student organisations had been protesting in front of Chief Adviser Yunus' residence and at Shahbagh demanding a ban on AL and its affiliated organisations.
