Tarique’s tribute to Khaleda Zia on Mother’s Day

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended heartfelt wishes to all mothers around the world on the occasion of the Mother's Day.
In a post on his verified Facebook page around 1:00am, he wrote, "On this day, I pay my deepest respect to the beacon of women's education, the 'Mother of Democracy,' our national leader, Begum Khaleda Zia."
Reflecting on his mother's life, he said, "Begum Khaleda Zia has spent her entire life in a relentless struggle for democratic progress and the creation of an enlightened society—marked by sacrifice, tireless efforts, deep compassion, and genuine love for the people."
Tarique further said that under Khaleda Zia's leadership, Bangladesh witnessed significant advancements in women's education during the BNP government's tenure.
"She took various initiatives to prevent schoolgirls from dropping out. On this day, I once again pay my deepest respect to the 'Mother of Democracy,' who lit the path for women's education."
In his Mother's Day message, Tarique prays for the continued happiness, peace, and prosperity of all mothers.
He described Mother's Day as a meaningful international occasion, celebrated to honour the vital role and contributions of mothers in society and the family.
"Children's love for their mothers is eternal, but today is a special day to express that love openly. A mother is a remarkable institution within the family. It is through the teachings of great mothers that children's futures are shaped."
Tarique also wrote that many countries and cultures have elevated the Mother's Day to new heights through various celebrations.
"The sweetest word on earth is 'Mother.' Hidden within this small word are boundless affection, care, and the purest form of love the world has ever known," he added.
