Faridpur bus crash: probe committee expanded to 7

The Faridpur District Administration has expanded the probe committee investigating yesterday's deadly road accident that killed seven people and injured 29 others.
The newly formed seven-member committee now includes a representative from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). It is headed by Additional District Magistrate Mintu Biswas and includes officials from BRTA, Roads and Highways, Fire Service, Police, and Highway Police.
The team began its work yesterday and aims to submit a report by Sunday, April 13.
Committee members plan to visit the site of the accident tomorrow.
BRTA Assistant Director Md Nasir Uddin said the crashed bus has been towed to the Highway Police Station but the driver is still on the run.
The accident occurred around 11:00am yesterday in Faridpur, when a bus lost control, hit a roadside pillar, and fell into a ditch.
