BCS Exams: ‘Fix overlap of schedules’

Candidates protest in front of PSC

Candidates of the 44th to 47th Bangladesh Civil Service exams yesterday demanded that the Public Service Commission immediately publish a specific time-bound roadmap to conclude the long-stalled recruitment processes.

They held an hour-long sit-in protest in front of the PSC office in Dhaka's Agargaon area. Later, three representatives from each batch submitted a memorandum to the PSC chairman, outlining their concerns and proposals.

In the memorandum, the candidates said many were forced to sit for the 44th, 45th, and 46th BCS exams due to poor scheduling and overlapping timelines.

They said the date for the 46th BCS written exam was announced even before the written results of the 45th BCS were published. Meanwhile, the preliminary exam date for the 47th BCS has already been announced.

They termed the situation "inhumane," as it compels applicants to appear in multiple written exams and then prepare again for the 47th BCS preliminary exam.

They urged the PSC to complete the viva voce for the 44th BCS by May and publish the final results by June. They also called for a structured plan to conclude the recruitment process for the 44th to 47th BCS exams without further delay.

Among other demands, they said the written test results of the 45th BCS should be announced soon after the final results of the 44th BCS, and the viva voce for the 45th should begin promptly while completing the recruiting process for this BCS before December 2025.
