43rd BCS: Gazette published for 162 of 227 excluded candidates

43rd BCS new gazette published
Ministry of Public Administration appoints 162 previously excluded candidates after review

The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a new gazette appointing 162 out of the 227 candidates who were previously excluded from the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).

The announcement was made today.

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam had earlier indicated in a social media post on Monday night that a final decision would soon be made regarding these candidates.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) had initially recommended the recruitment of 2,163 candidates on December 26, 2023, following the 43rd BCS notification issued in 2020.

The ministry first published a gazette on October 15 last year appointing 2,064 of them—99 fewer than the PSC's recommendation.

That gazette was later cancelled on December 30, and a revised one appointed 1,896 candidates, leaving out 267.

Among them, 40 were absent during the medical examination, while 227 were deemed temporarily ineligible based on intelligence reports.

Officials noted that although some recommended candidates have been excluded during previous verification processes, the cancellation of an already published BCS gazette was unprecedented.
