2 killed in Habiganj road crash, 20 injured

At least two people were killed and 20 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bahubol upazila of Habiganj this afternoon.

The accident occurred around 3:00pm in the Chargaon area of the upazila.

According to Jahidul Hasan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bahubol Police Station, a bus bound for Cumilla from Sylhet collided head-on with another bus coming from Dhaka, leaving two people, including the driver of the Cumilla-bound bus, dead on the spot.

Police are working to identify the two deceased.

The injured passengers were rushed to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital, the OC added.
