Yunus commends Modi, Shehbaz on ceasefire deal

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus today applauded the prime ministers of India and Pakistan on reaching a ceasefire deal.

"I most sincerely commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan for agreeing to a ceasefire with immediate effect and to engage in talks," he said in a statement issued by his press wing.

He furthered, "I would also like to express my deep appreciation to President [Donald] Trump and Secretary of State [Marco] Rubio for their effective mediation."

Bangladesh will continue to support its neighbours to resolve differences through diplomacy, Yunus said.
