Arav Khan is under watch in Dubai: foreign ministry

The home ministry and Bangladesh's mission in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are working on issues related to Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan, a fugitive accused in a police officer murder case, said a foreign ministry spokesperson.

"He is under watch there," Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Seheli Sabrin told reporters in the weekly briefing this afternoon.

She said the foreign ministry will extend required assistance if the home ministry needs it.

Earlier, Bangladesh police sent a letter asking Interpol to issue a red notice against fugitive accused Arav Khan, owner of Dubai's Arav Jewellers.

On March 16, a senior Detective Branch official said cricketer Shakib Al Hasan and content creator Hero Alam, who participated in the inauguration of Arav Jewellers, may be questioned for the sake of investigation.
