At least 41 people were arrested yesterday in a raid conducted by joint forces in a slum in Gazipur's Tongi.

They were detained on charges of involvement in drug trafficking and terrorist activities, said a source from the joint forces, which comprised the army, BGB, Rab, and police.

The raid took place around 9:00pm at Haji Mazar slum, adjacent to Bishwa Ijtema Maidan, on the banks of the Turag River under Tongi West Police Station.

According to police sources, the forces carried out a large-scale operation targeting terrorism, robbery, and drug-related crimes in the slum.

Led by Mohammad Raihanul Islam, Additional District Commissioner (Revenue), 260 law enforcers participated in the raid.

The forces recovered Tk 39,400 in cash, two darts, two knives, one saw, one cutting plier, one router, four hard disks, four button mobile phones, and four litres of local liquor, among other items.
