Two NGO workers, a man and a woman, were kidnapped by four men from a garden in Tulatuli village on Yesterday evening.

The male victim was allegedly tied to a tree and given electrical shocks while the female victim was forcefully undressed as the accused took videos of her, police said.

They reportedly used the videos to extort Tk 20,000 from the woman's sister through Bkash.

At 11:00pm, the two victims were rescued by locals after their screams were heard.

A case was filed in this regard today on allegations of extortion after abduction and torture at Chandina Police Station, mentioning the four accused kidnappers.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandina Police Station Nazmul Huda confirmed the matter, refusing to disclose the names, adding, "The accused are residents of Tulatuli and neighbouring villages."

The OC said, "The accused are on the run. A drive is ongoing to arrest them."
