Schoolgirl electrocuted to death in Chuadanga

A schoolgirl died from electrocution in Monoharpur village in Chuadanga's Jibannagar upazila today.

The deceased, Mita, 11, daughter of Madhu Sheikh of the village, was a Class III student of Monoharpur Government Primary School.

Locals said that while opening the bathroom door, Mita's hand accidentally touched an electric wire and was electrocuted.

Family members rescued Mita, who was in serious condition, and quickly took her to Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex, where doctor declared her dead.

Mamun Hossain Biswas, officer-in-charge of Jibannagar Police Station, said the body was handed over to the family for burial without autopsy.

A case has been filed with the police station in this incident.
