Two people died, 10 were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a bus in Natrakona Sadar upazila early today.

The deceased were identified as bus driver Sabuj Mia (45) and his helper Sohel Mia (35), our Mymensingh correspondent reports quoting Khandakar Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Netrakona Model Police Station.

The Netrakona-bound bus from Chattogram collided with the Mymensingh-bound paddy-laden truck on Netrakana-Mymensingh road around 5:15am, the OC said.

One person died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to a hospital, the police official said.

A number of people, who were injured in the accident were taken to Natrakona Adhunik Sadar Hospital and Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, he added.

A team of Mymensingh police removed the two vehicles from the road around 9am, resuming vehicular movement on the route, the police official also said.
