Three friends were killed after a truck ran them over on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur last night.

The dead are Hussain Sardar, 20, son of Mujibur Sardar, Nahid Biswas, 21, son of Idris Biswas and Jobair Biswas, 20, son of Badshah Biswas of Bishwaspara in Bagat union.

The accident took place in Ghopghat area in Bagat union around 8:00pm, reports our Faridpur correspondent quoting police and locals.

Bagat Union Parishad Chairman Mujibur Rahman Khan told our Faridpur correspondent that the three were coming to Bagat from Kamarkhali on a motorcycle.

When they reached in Ghopghat area, a tree branch fell on the motorcycle during a storm and the trio skidded off the road.

At that time, a Magura-bound truck ran over them. Locals took them to Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead, added the UP chairman.

Sumon Kar, assistant superintendent of police (Madhukhali circle) in Faridpur, said the bodies are currently at the upazila health complex.
