Eighteen more Rohingyas were arrested from different areas of Naikhongchari upazila on Wednesday during the joint raids conducted by Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and police.
Acting on secret information that Rohingyas have entered Bangladesh territory to enroll them in the ongoing voters' list update, the law enforcers launched the joint operation and caught the Myanmar nationals.
Fourteen of the arrested are identified as Syed Ahmed, 30, Fatema Begum, 30, Josna Begum, 25, Zakir Hossain, 24, Khairul Amin, 23, Janu Bibi, 23, Shafika Akhter, 20, Rasheda, 15, Zakaria, 10, Mohammed Hasan, 10, Nabi Hossain, 5, Shafika Akter, 4, Sayeka Begum, 2, and Yousuf, 2.
Earlier, the joint forces caught 11 Rohingyas from different villages of Naikhongchari upazila on Sunday and Monday.
