In a major reshuffle in the police department, a total of 56 senior officials with ranks from additional inspector general to superintendent of police (SP) were transferred yesterday.
They include four additional inspector generals and a metropolitan police commissioner.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Naim Ahmed, also additional IG, was made the rector of Police Staff College, said a home ministry notification.
Deputy Inspector General of Chittagong Range AKM Shahidul Huq has replaced Naim.
Another Additional IG Zaved Patwary, who was the chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), was made the chief of the Special Branch (SB) while SB chief Additional IG Baharul Alam was transferred to the Police Headquarters (PHQ).
Additional IG Syed Shah Zaman Raj from PHQ was made CID chief.
DIG Mohammad Sadiqur Rahman of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) was made the DIG of Railway Range, Railway Range DIG Sheikh Hemayet Hossain Miah the DIG of Khulna Range, DIG Mohammad Moklesur Rahman of the PHQ the DIG of Dhaka Range, DIG Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan the DIG of Sylhet Range and Sylhet Range DIG Mohammad Abul Kashem the additional commissioner of DMP while
DIG Mohammad Amir Uddin of Dhaka Range and DMP additional commissioner Abdus Salam were transferred to the PHQ.
Khulna Range additional DIG Mohammad Asaduzzaman Miah was made the DIG of Chittagong Range, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) additional commissioner Mohammad Abdur Rahim the additional commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) and deputy commissioner of DMP Mirza Abdullahel Baki the commandant of Range Reserve Force (RRF), Rajshahi.
DC Saleh Mohammad Tanvir of DMP was made the SP of Rangpur, SP Mohammad Monirul Islam of Nilphamari the DC of DMP, DC Golam Kibria of KMP the SP of Sunamganj, SP Mosleh Uddin Ahmed of Kushtia the DC of DMP, SP Chowdhury Manjurul Kabir of Natore the DC of DMP and SP Towfiq Mahbub Chowdhury of Barisal the DC of DMP.
