Hasina returns home today

Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina returns home today after receiving treatment abroad while on parole.
Although the former premier has five cases pending against her in courts, she has obtained bail in all the cases.
AL has taken up massive programmes to accord her a grand reception from Zia International Airport (ZIA) to her Sudha Sadan residence in Dhanmondi.
The former prime minister is scheduled to arrive at ZIA at 8:15am by an Emirates Airlines flight.
"We are mobilising tens of thousands of people from the airport to Sudha Sadan to bestow our heartiest welcome to party chief Sheikh Hasina tomorrow. We have already directed our party workers in this regard," AL presidium member Abdur Razzak told The Daily Star last night.
He said after returning home, Sheikh Hasina will lead AL to the election and take part in the poll as a "free person".
Hasina's counsel Barrister Fazle Noor Taposh said, "Since she has been granted bail in all cases she was shown arrested in, she is returning home tomorrow a free person."
Earlier, AL acting general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam had categorically said that Hasina would be returning home after being released on bail.
The AL president was granted parole on June 11 after about 11 months in detention in a special jail within the Jatiya Sangshad Bhaban. She left Bangladesh for USA for treatment a day after her release.
Senior AL leaders will be present at the VIP lounge of ZIA to welcome Hasina today.
After arriving at the airport, Hasina is scheduled to go to Dhanmondi road no 32 to pay her respects at the Bangabandhu Museum. She will place floral wreaths at the portrait her father, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and offer prayers before heading for her Sudha Sadan residence from where she was arrested by the joint forces on July 16 last year.
Tight security measures have been arranged by law enforcement agencies along the route from the airport to Hasina's house.
AL'S PREPARATION
AL and its different associated organisations have held a series of meetings over the last two days to take preparations to accord a grand reception to their party chief. They have already directed all city's thana, ward and union units to join a procession early in the morning.
Dhaka city unit of AL yesterday held an extended meeting with senior party leaders and decided to mobilise more than one lakh people at eight points through the streets from ZIA to Sudha Sadan.
Members of all of AL's associated units and thana and upazila units from Dhaka and its adjacent districts will join this procession.
Meanwhile, leaders and workers from across the country have come to Dhaka to be present to welcome Sheikh Hasina.
