A man died yesterday after drinking milk and eating pineapple at the same time at a wedding ceremony after betting with his friends at Kamrangirchar in the city.
The deceased was identified as Nannu Sheikh, 28, a shop owner at West Rasulpur at Kamrangirchar.
Family members said the victim was also drunk at the wedding party.
Quoting her husband before death, Eti Akter said he drank at the wedding of his neighbour Nur Hossain and then bet with his friends that he would drink milk and take pineapple at the same time.
According to the bet, he was forced to eat pineapple and drink milk. Just after 15 minutes, he felt sick and died on way to the hospital at around 2:30am.
Police said the body of Nannu was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue to find out the causes behind his death.
Meanwhile, a rickshaw van driver in Munshiganj drank pesticide and succumbed to his poisoning at DMCH.
The deceased was identified as Monir Hossain, 40.
Momtaz Begum, wife of the victim, said he drank pesticide on Wednesday at 1:30pm after beating his son a class-1 student Antor, who did not study properly, which made Monir angry.
