Catching up with Rakhi

Acting and occasional modelling are keeping Lux Channel i Superstar Rakhi busy these days. Several TV channels are currently airing plays featuring Rakhi, including the Banglavision serial “Generation Next Dot”. Rakhi recently sat with The Daily Star to talk about her recent works and future plans.
Where did you celebrate Eid?
Rakhi: At Noakhali, which is my paternal home. I had lots of fun during Eid.
You recently went outside the country…
Rakhi: Yes. I stayed in Bangkok for 12 days and three days in Singapore. In Bangkok, we shot the serial “Ochena Protibimbo” -- directed by Raihan Khan and being aired by ntv.
Tell us about “Generation Next Dot”.
Rakhi: “Generation Next Dot” is written and directed by Ejaz Munna. In the drama, I play an urban, hip youngster on whom the plot is based. There are many surprises both in the story and its making.
Are you doing any new serials?
Rakhi: I'm working on a new serial, titled “Idiots”, directed by Mustafa Kamal Raj. The first lot of shooting has already been done in Uttara. Other actors working in the serial are Hasan Masud, Siddique, Romel, Mukit, Chanchal etc. Channel 9 will air “Idiots”.
How many Eid-special plays have you done?
Rakhi: Several. I worked on Eid dramas by Tauquir Ahmed, Mahfuz Ahmed, Arif Khan and Ferdous Hasan. The drama “Mister Nudu Miss Daba” was a very funny play. I got a lot of good reviews for my Eid works.
What about modelling?
Rakhi: I modelled for a music video -- for Kona's song “Your Love”. It was shot in Sri Lanka. I freaked out after spotting a crocodile during the shoot.
