President Zillur Rahman yesterday regularised the appointment of 15 additional judges to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The judges are Md Faruque, Md Shawkat Hossain, FRM Nazmul Ahasan, Krishna Debnath, ANM Bashirullah, Abdur Rob, Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque, Md Abu Zafor Siddique, AKM Zahirul Hoque, Jahangir Hossain, Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain, Md Habibul Gani, Gobinda Chandra Tagore, Sheikh Hassan Arif and JBM Hassan.
They were appointed as additional judges of the HC on April 11, 2010 for a period of two years and were sworn in on April 17 the same year.
The president yesterday confirmed their appointment as regular judges. The law ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard.
Their confirmation will come into effect from the date of their oath taking as regular HC judges, said a law ministry press release.
