Farhana Halim, wife of slain UP chairman and Awami League leader Gazi Abdul Halim, has demanded immediate arrest of the killers and the mastermind behind the killing.
She made the demand at a press conference arranged by 'Shaheed Gazi Abdul Halim Smiriti Parishad' at Khulna Press Club yesterday.
Lawmaker elected from Khulna-4 constituency Alhaj Molla Jalal Uddin and newly appointed administrator of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ar-Rashid are among the members of the parishad.
Gazi Abdul Halim, chairman of Senhati Union Parisahd under Digholia upazila and publicity secretary of Awami League Khulna district unit, came under attack by an armed gang while he was returning home, riding a motorbike from UP office at 2:30 pm on October 30.
He died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka.on November 2.
Farhana said she had lodged a case with Digholia Police Station against 18 people belonging to a faction of Khulna AL.
Police have so far arrested only eight out of 18 accused. Of them, four were interrogated for seven days in the TFI cell in Dhaka, she said.
She demanded immediate arrest of the rest 10 accused and the mastermind behind the killing.
