4 TVs to air one minute's free programme on child issues

Four TV channels -- ATN Bangla, Desh TV, Boishakhi TV and Somoy TV -- will broadcast one minute's free programme on children during prime time, says a press release.
The TV channels yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Unicef in this connection. Unicef will produce public service announcements (PSA) under the guidance of relevant ministry to promote priority issues related to children's well-being, which will be aired by the TV channels.
Mahfuzur Rahman, Asaduzzaman Noor MP, Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Ahmed Jubayer on behalf of their TV channels and Unicef representative Carel de Rooy signed the MoU at Sonargaon Hotel in the city yesterday. Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad was present at the signing ceremony. The one minute programme will include issues of child rights, child labours, and related awareness events.
