Abdul Wahab

Mohammad Abdul Wahab, valiant freedom fighter and a close associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, died of old age complications at Chittagong Medical College Hospital yesterday at the age of 87.
Wahab, a member of Awami League (AL) national committee, left behind his wife, four sons, five daughters, and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at city's Jamiatul Falah mosque at 10:00am today.
He will be buried in his native village Fatehpur with state honour after Zuhr prayers after a second janaza on Fatehpur High School ground.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at his death.
She also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism engineer Mosharraf Hossain, MP, also President of AL, Chittagong North district, and General Secretary M A Salam; Chittagong city AL president and former mayor A B M Mohiuddin Chowdhury, and General Secretary Kazi Enamul Haq Danu; President of Chittagong south district AL Akhteruzzaman Chowdhury, also Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry Of Jute and Textile, and General Secretary Muslemuddin expressed profound shock at the death.
