ACC to sue 41
The Anti-Corruption Commission last month decided to file 22 cases against 41 people including public representatives, government officials, and businessmen.
The charges include amassing wealth illegally, misappropriation, and money laundering among others, said Farrukh Ahmed, director general (admin and establishment) of the ACC. He was speaking during the monthly press briefing at its headquarters in the city Wednesday.
The public representatives include Saiful Haque Khan Chowdhury, mayor of Mirpur municipality in Kushtia; and Mohammad Abdur Rashid, councilor of the municipality.
The government officials include Mohammad Nazmul Haque, former executive engineer of Narayanganj Roads and Highway; and Badrul Alam, executive engineer of Sarak Bhaban, Dhaka; while the businessmen include Giasuddin Al Mamun.
