The 24th death anniversary of Comrade Mohammad Farhad, former general secretary of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), will be observed today.
Marking the day, CPB will hold a discussion at its central office at 5:00pm and place wreaths at Farhad's grave in the city's Banani. It also called upon the party men to observe the day with due respect across the country.
Comrade Farhad, elected as a parliament member from Panchagar in 1986, died on October 9 in 1987 in Moscow at the age of 49, says a press release.
In his political career of 35 years, Comrade Farhad spent over 14 years in prison or as a fugitive.
