Bayezid Alam Jobair Nipu has been selected as the technical director of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) after the body's development committee led by vice-president Kazi Nabil Ahmed gave his approval on the issue.
"After having interviewed two candidates, the committee unanimously recommended Nipu's name as the fitter one," informed BFF general secretary Al Musabbir Sadi.
Now, BFF president Kazi Salahuddin will take the matter to the executive committee before appointing him in place of Shahidur Rahman Shantoo, whose tenure expires on October 31.
It was however learnt that only the seniority issue was considered on way to selecting the technical director as both Nipu and Saiful Bari Titu were AFC A-licensed coaches.
There has virtually been no activity of the BFF technical director over the past two years, but it is mandatory to appoint a technical director to ensure the financial assistance from FIFA, the game's world ruling body.
