Thirty of the 37 government high schools in Rajshahi division have been running without any regular headmaster for long, much to the hampering of academic and administrative activities of the institutions.
The schools without regular headmaster are -- Rajshahi Government Laboratory High School, Mohonpur Government High School, Sarda Government Pilot High School, Horimohon Government High School,
Nababganj Government Girls' High School, Shibganj Government Model High School, Rahanpur AB Government High School, Natore Government Girls' High School, Natore Government High School, Singra Damdama Government Girls' High School, Pabna Zila School, Pabna Government Girls' High School, Krishnapur Government Girls' High School, BL Government High School, Saleha Ishaq Government Girls' High School, Santahar Harvey Government Girls' High School, Gabtoli Government Girl's High School, Sariakandi Government High School, Naogaon KD Government High School, Naogaon Zila School, Sapahar Government Girl's High School, Joypurhat Government Girl's High School, Joypurhat RB Government High School, Panchbibi Girls' High School, Panchbibi Albi Pilot Government High School, and Panchbibi NM Government Girls' High School, said sources at Secondary and Higher Education Rajshahi Zone office.
"Teachers were not given promotion because of lack of time befitting promotion rules and lack of coordination among the ministries of establishment and finance, Public Service Commission and Education Department," Rajshahi Zonal Deputy Director of Secondary and Higher Education Prof Tarun Kumar Sarkar said.
