GM Ziaur Rahman finished 11th in the fourth Kolkata Open International Grandmasters Chess Tournament that concluded at Gorky Sadan in Kolkata yesterday.
GM Le Quang Liem of Vietnam emerged champion with eight points.
Zia defeated Indian IM MR Lalit Babu in the final round to raise his point tally to six and half, just half-a-point ahead of GM Reefat Bin Sattar, who became 34th after beating Indian Sayantan Das.
GM Enamul Hossain Rajib with five points finished 54th followed by FM Abu Sufian Shakil, who finished 81st with 4.5 points. Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar with four points finished 87th. In the final round, Shakil drew with Bitan Banerjee, Sagar drew with Swapnil Dhopade, Rajib lost to Anwesh Upadhyaya while Debaraj Chatterjee went down against Thakur Akash.
