The government yesterday promoted 19 additional secretaries to the rank of secretary and made them officer on special duty (OSD).
According to a gazette notification, 18 of the officers were serving as acting secretaries at different ministries. The rest one is Golam Mostakim, who was the managing director of BCS Administration Academy.
The other officers are Nasiruddin Ahmed, Md Habibullah Majumder, Dr Mihir Kanti Majumder, Samar Chandra Pal, Md Ataharul Islam, Md Moklesur Rahman, Illius Ahmed, Md Abdul Malek, Mohammad Shafiul Alam, AKM Abdul Awal Majumder, Hedayetullah Al Mamun, Kamrun Nesa Khanam, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Md Mozammel Haq Khan, Md Abul Kalam Azad, Manzur Hossain, Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Mahbub Ahmed.
Sources at the establishment ministry said the promoted officers would be given appointment at different ministries soon.
