Police arrested music director Shawkot Ali Emon from his Eskaton Garden house in the wee hours today following a case filed by his ex-wife under the Information Technology Act.

Emon’s ex-wife lodged a case with Ramna Police Station on August 18, Mushiur Rahman, officer in-charge of the police station, told the Daily Star today.

A team of Ramna police raided Emon’s house shortly after the midnight and detained him.

Detail about the allegation brought against Emon could not be known immediately.

Later, a Dhaka court sent him to jail after he was produced before it, the OC said.

Earlier on December 5, 2012, police arrested Emon after a 25-year-old female singer filed a case accusing him of luring her with false promises of marriage to get physically involved.
