Manzur Anam, 70, fourth son of eminent politician and litterateur Abul Mansur Ahmad, and elder brother of Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star, passed away at the Square Hospital last night.
He died of cardiac arrest at 9:30pm following a brain haemorrhage.
His body will be brought to his ancestral home at Dhanmondi Road no-6A, House no-61D opposite the Eidgah Mosque at 12:00noon.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held after Asr prayers at the Eidgah Maidan in Dhanmondi.
Manzur obtained master's in geology from Dhaka University and worked most of his life in energy sector, specialising in oil and gas.
He started his career in Pakistan Geological Survey and was the first Chief Executive of Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC) of independent Bangladesh.
He also worked for Meghna Petroleum. He was a director of Air Alliance Limited, a service partner of UPS, a global courier service.
Manzur left behind a son.
His relatives, friends and well wishers are requested to attend his namaz-e-janaza.
