Art offers an escape from the unending chaos of the world and the artists are the guardians of this tranquil realm. 

Studio 6/6 is an initiative by the painter Mr. Najib Tareque, who wanted to create a platform for artists of different talents, to exhibit and share their very own experiences.  

This artists' hub which was initially just used by the painter as his very own studio, has been tailoured according to strict specifications. The studio was launched in 2015 when the co-founder , Ms. Taiara Farhana Tareque, saw the potential of the open space in her terrace, and decided to turn it into a hope for new ideas and unknown talent. For this initiative, the studio has earned great appreciation from artists all over Dhaka. 

A year after its initial launch, the studio has hosted workshops, exhibitions and small scale events featuring musicians, painters etc. In 2016, great shows like Art Makes Us Human, Iqra and Misdirection were hosted here.  Each of the unique shows have highlighted the spirit of art and the love for it. A few months ago, the studio decided to start hosting workshops and is currently hosting a standup comedy workshop and other courses on sound engineering, miming, copywriting and scriptwriting. 

All in all, this is the first active year for Studio 6/6. 

When talking to the co-founder, Miss Tareque, about their journey and expectations regarding the place, she says, 'We are just starting out. My friend Kamrul and I, with a bunch of really talented individuals, have embarked upon this journey together. This is only a crucial year for us. If we survive, I know that we can make great things happen. "
