Falgun shenanigans

‘Boshonto' – when nature reboots! New leaves start to sprout on every branch of every tree, and gentle flowers which shied away from the dreary winter chills peak out and begin to bloom in a riot of colours.

Keeping the viridity and vibrancy of Falgun in mind, you can be nature's belle for the occasion, to celebrate her rejuvenation, by wearing all those colours in your jewellery made of fresh flowers and even leaves.

A delicate garland of jasmines or small marigolds would go perfectly with a simple twisted messy bun, while you can pin up a freshly picked red rose and put it behind your ear if you go for a free hair look.

Floral body embellishments are equally important and you can sport a string of flowers on your wrist like a bracelet to amplify your Boshonto attire.

While you will definitely be trying to stand out in your look, even in your resolution to keep it professional, do not overwork on your most important feature – eyes.

It is best to avoid flashy shades of golden, green or red for eyeshadow; neutral colours like beige and other pastel shades are definitely recommended. Outline the perfect wings on your eyelids and go for a prominent hint of kohl to define your eyes.

Bold colours like magenta, crimson and wine red are best suited for the lips to truly complement your Falgun look.

If you are not too comfortable pulling off such bright shades, you can always tone it down and resort to coral and pinkish shades to stay more confident in your style. Accentuate your nose and upper end of cheekbones with an appropriate shade of highlighter to complete your perfect office look for Falgun.

Floral ornaments can be bought and customised from any next-door flower shop. You can also find a range of exquisite oxidised silver ornaments at Aatpourey: facebook.com/a8poure

Ethnic clay, copper and silver jewellery are sold at Jatra and Idea Crafts: facebook.com/JatraWorld
