Award giving Ceremony of 5th Bangladesh Round Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2021

The Award giving ceremony of the 5th Bangladesh Round-Virtual Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2021 was held on 11 September 2021 at the Canadian University of Bangladesh. This year, a total of 20 teams participated in the 5th edition of the Bangladesh round of this grand slam moot court competition which was held from 11 to 13 February 2021. The champion team was University of Dhaka, represented by Sal Sabil Chowdhury, Helal Morshed Omiyo and Ahmed Ragib Chowdhury. BRAC University, represented by Rakibul Islam Bhuiyan, Mosabbir Hossain and Humaira Anjum, became the runners' up. The University of Dhaka bagged the award for the 'Best Memorial' while Sal Sabil Chowdhury achieved the award for the 'Best Mooter'.

The keynote speaker, Dr. H M Jahirul Haque, Senior Advisor, Board of Trustees, Canadian University of Bangladesh, adorned the prize giving ceremony. Dr. Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian, Advisor, Department of Law, Canadian University of Bangladesh, and Moderator, Dhaka University Moot Court Society (DUMCS) in his speech reminisced how far Jessup had progressed in Bangladesh. Ms Sarah E Edwards, Resident Legal Advisor, Department of Justice-OPDAT, U.S. Embassy, Dhaka reaffirmed the Embassy's support for the facilitation of Jessup Competition and the cohesive integration of international law in Bangladesh. ASM Sayem Ali Pathan, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh & National Administrator of Jessup Bangladesh National Round 2020-21 and Ms. Sarah E. Edwards, handed over the Championship and the Runners' up Trophies and other awards over to the respected teams and individuals.

Mr. Nuran Choudhury, National Coordinator, ILSA Chapters - Bangladesh, along with Mr. Washik Md. Istiaq Ezaz & Mr. Riad Mahmud, National Administrators, Bangladesh Round, Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2021-22, expressed their gratitude to Canadian University of Bangladesh, and the Department of Justice-OPDAT, U.S. Embassy, Dhaka and all the friends of Jessup in Bangladesh for their continuous and unwavering support.  Jessup Bangladesh further extended its tokens of appreciation to all the Jessup Ambassadors and Facilitators and friends of Jessup in Bangladesh.
