Former advisor to a caretaker government, Justice Bijan Kumar Das passed away at a hospital in the capital yesterday morning. He was 71.
Justice Das left behind a son and a daughter, said a press release.
His body was taken to Supreme Court premises where lawyers and judges, including Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain and Attorney General Mahbubay Alam, paid tribute to him.
He was the chairman of Bangladesh Press Council from 2010 to 2013.
He had served as a judge of the High Court and also the Appellate Division for 12 years.
