  • ‘Mass Revolt Day’ observed with strong oath to end all exploitation. East Pakistan National Awami Party, East Pakistan Chhatra Union, East Pakistan Chhatra League, East Bangla Revolutionary Students’ Union, East Bangla Chhatra Union, Bangla Chhatra League are  among the political parties observing the day. Workers of several factories and other organisations also observed the day and staged programmes such as processions and rallies. All the programmes demanded full implementation of 11-point demand, autonomy on the basis of 11-point demand, release of political leaders, reduction of price hike of essentials, pardoning of due tax and sovereignty of national council.
  • Marking the occasion of mass revolt day, East Pakistan Chhatra League President Nur-a-Alam Siddiqui tells a rally arranged in Paltan Maidan that intense reprisal will be built up even if a single punctuation of the 11-point is omitted, all taxes will be stopped, courts, offices and industries will be put under lock and key. East Pakistan Chhatra League General Secretary Shahjahan Siraj, Dhaka University central students’ body Vice President ASM Abdur Rob and newly-elected national member Khaled Mohammad Ali are among others who spoke in the occasion.
  • Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman attends a reception ceremony at Engineers Institute arranged to honour Mujib. Speaking at the programme, Mujib says that the nation could not pay due honour to great poets Rabindranath Tagore, Nazrul Islam and others. He assures that separate and general academies will be established in this part of the country. Sheikh Mujib complained that the exploiters distorted the national culture in their favour in the past. Radio Pakistan is broadcasting Nazrul’s songs with changed words.
