First cases of Covid-19 detected in the Rohingya community, two confirmed positive

Two Rohingya refugees, who fled to Cox's Bazar following persecution in Myanmar, tested positive for Covid-19 today.
Twelve people tested positive for coronavirus at the field lab of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) at Cox's Bazar Government Medical College today, said Prof Dr Anupam Barua, principal of the medical college.
Of them, two are Rohingya refugees, the principal said.
They have been isolated at a hospital, he said, adding that they are the first coronavirus patients among the Rohingyas now staying in the district.
A total of 3,464 samples have been tested at the Cox's Bazar Government Medical College Lab since April 2 and a total of 146 people tested positive for coronavirus. Of them, 131 patients are from Cox's Bazar district while seven from Bandarban, six from Chattogram and rest two are from the Rohingya community, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports quoting the principal.
