Shahinur Kabir Shimul, a former footballer of the national team, died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Bogra yesterday. The former national booter was 48.
Shimul, who had played for clubs like Mohammedan SC and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC during the 1980s, left behind his wife, a son and a host of well-wishers. His namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Shibganj Eidgah maidan at 11:00am.
Bangladesh Football Federation officials and officials of different sports clubs expressed their deep condolences at the untimely the death of Shimul.
