There are many hidden stories behind the Liberation War of Bangladesh, which exposes the brutality of the genocide committed against us.

Such an event, which took place in 1971, inspires "Shapod". Produced by Picklu Chowdhury, the screenplay of the Golam Muktadir directorial is written by Masum Shahriar.

A train guard, Wajiullah, witnesses a spine-chilling incident, when he discovers a compartment full of corpses. The story unfolds as hundreds of corpses were being carried to dispose by the 'Shapod' (person assigned to bury dead) in the dead of a night. 

While writing the script, the witness Wajiullah's daughter Lutfunnesa and grandson Rashedul Auwal were consulted.

The shooting for the project wrapped up recently. Located in Parbotipur, Syedpur, an entire train was booked for three days to film the production.

"Shapod" features Tariq Anam Khan, Shampa Reza, Shatabdi Wadud, FS Nayeem, Sabnam Faria, Abul Kalam Azad, Shetu, and Rounak Ripon, among others.
