Today marks the birth anniversary of late legendary actor Aslam Talukder Manna. Born on April 14, 1964, in Kaitla village of Kalihati, Tangail, Manna made his silver screen debut in 1984 through the BFDC-organised talent hunt programme, "Notun Mukher Shondhane". His first released film was "Pagli".

The late actor first appeared as a solo hero in the 1991 film "Kashem Malar Prem", directed by Mostafa Anwar. Manna later starred in a string of popular films including "Ammajaan", "Danga", "Loot Toraj", and "Kabuliwala", among others. 

Throughout his acting career, Manna earned numerous accolades, including the National\ Film Award, three Meril-Prothom Alo Awards, and five Bachsas Awards.

In his personal life, Manna married his early co-artist Shelly Quader. The couple has a son named Siam Iltimas Manna.

On February 17, 2008, the beloved actor passed away from a cardiac arrest at the age of 44. He was laid to rest in Elenga, Kalihati, Tangail—his birthplace and final resting ground.
