Recently, Anurag Kashyap disclosed that the second season of the highly anticipated series "Pataal Lok" has been officially put on hold. 

Since the "Tandav" controversy, a lot has changed in the web medium. The series starring Saif Ali Khan, Sunil Grover, and others was embroiled in a controversy over offending religious sentiments. 

Following that, OTT platforms are playing it safe by avoiding controversial content. Unfortunately, this caused "Paatal Lok 2" to become stuck.

In an interview with local media, Anurag talked about his project "Maximum City" which has been put on hold because Netflix didn't want to get caught in criticism.

"It's written (referring to his untitled Maximum City series), but we're still figuring out the next steps. Netflix was supposed to do it earlier, but they no longer want to", said Anurag. 

"The project has been approved, but a lot has changed in the world of streaming since then. Many projects have stalled, including Paatal Lok season two," revealed the "Dev D '' director.

Anurag made his Netflix debut with "Sacred Games", a series he co-directed with Vikramaditya Motwane and Neeraj Ghaywan. 

"Sacred Games" was supposed to get a third season, but Netflix didn't go ahead with it.
