Only 14 full-length films submitted for National Film Award 2020

September 19 was the deadline for submitting productions for the National Film Award 2020.
A total of 27 projects were submitted this year, out of which 14 films are full-length, 7 are short films and 6 are documentaries.
The full fledged features are --"Bir", "Shenshah", "Gor", "Holud Bani", "Unoponchash Batash", "Ekjon Mohan Neta", "Rupsha Nodir Baankey", "Gondi", "Amar Maa", "Cholo Jai", "Joynagarer Zamindar", "Subarnarekha", "Hridoy Jurey", and "Bishwoshundori".The short films are – "Kothay Pabo Tarey", "Ator", "Shada Golap", "Phera", "Arong", "The Skiers" and "Amar Babar Naam".
Also, the documentaries include—"Shadhinotar Dakticket", "Rotho Jatrar Baki Itihash", "Bangabandhur Rajnoitik Jibon O Bangladehser Ovyudoy", "Biography of Nazrul", "The Frontiersman Fazlul Huq" and "Neelmukut".
Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Censor Board Md Jashim Uddin has confirmed the list of the submitted films to The Daily Star.
"Due to the ongoing pandemic, this is the least number of submissions for the National Film Awards in recent years," he said.
"However, we will begin reviewing the movies next week."
Awards in twenty-eight categories have been shortlisted this year. These are—Lifetime Achievement, Best Film, Best Film Direction, Best Documentary, Best Short Film, Best Actor in a Lead Role, Best Actress in a Lead Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Character in a Negative Role (male and female), Best Choreographer, Best Actor in a Comic Role(male and female), Best Child Artiste, Best Singer (male), Best Singer (female), Best Music Direction, Best Lyricist, Best Scriptwriter, Best Screenplay, Best Dialogues, Best Editor, Best Casting Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Sound, Best Costume Designer, and Best Makeup Artist.
