Netflix’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ series finds its Darcy, Elizabeth, and Mrs Bennet

Netflix has announced the lead cast for its upcoming "Pride and Prejudice" limited series, with Emma Corrin set to play Elizabeth Bennet and Olivia Colman taking on the role of Mrs Bennet. They will be joined by "Slow Horses" star Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy.
The six-episode series will be a faithful adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel, written by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn. Production is set to begin in the UK later this year.
Emma Corrin, known for their role in "The Crown", will also serve as an executive producer for the first time, alongside Alderton, Lyn, and others from Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne will produce the series.
"Playing Elizabeth Bennet is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Corrin in a statement, calling the role "an honour."
Writer Alderton added that the adaptation aims to inspire both longtime fans and new audiences to fall in love with Austen's iconic story once again.
