Left no stone unturned for ‘Dour’: Mosharraf Karim

Mosharraf Karim’s new tele-serial “Ronger Manush Dhonger Manush” will be on-air on Channel i soon. After garnering appreciation widely for his exceptional performance in the role of Inspector Harun in the Ashfaque Nipun Directorial web serial “Mohanagar”, the actor also managed to captivate the audience with his stellar performance in the Hoichoi original web series “Dour”.

We caught up with the star to know more about his recent endeavours and upcoming projects.

The actor is seen playing the role of Atik alongside his wife Robena Reza Jui in "Ronger Manush Dhonger Manush", a project which he is excited about.

"Atik is a simple but strong man residing in a village. He never misses the opportunity, when it comes to bringing about positive change, neither does he fail to revolt against any sort of injustice," he shares.

The production, written by Ibne Hasan Khan and directed by Sohel Hossain, is expected to air twice, weekly. "This multi-starrer production has an exceptional plot set in the rural setting of Bangladesh," he adds. "Our director has done an excellent job and I hope our hard work pays off."

 "Dour" is trending among the audience at the moment. According to Hoichoi, the web series has broken many records on the platform.  

"This production is the result of the hard work invested by its cast crew," smiles Mosharraf Karim. "We never hesitated to reshoot any scene if we thought the performance failed to hit the mark."

The actor is content with overall production quality "Dour" has put forward. "I don't think we left any stone unturned when it comes to investing our effort in 'Dour'," he adds.

He is very hopeful when it comes to the recent trends in OTT platforms. "I am very positive towards the emergence of OTT platforms in Bangladesh," he mentions.

Alongside television and OTT, Mosharraf Karim has been a part of some of the most rejoiced Bangla films in the recent years. He had last appeared in "Mukhosh" alongside Pori Moni, Ziaul Roshan, Iresh Zaker, and Azad Abul Kalam, among others.

"Before signing any new film, I see if I myself like its story," says Mosharraf Karim. "I believe the story is the main element in any cinematic production. The better the script, the better the production."

The actor is seen busy shooting all year long for the last two decades. However, he is an avid reader, and manages to set up reading breaks amidst his busy shoot schedules. "I never forget to carry books during outdoor shoots," shares an excited Mosharraf Karim.

Born in Barishal, Mosharraf Karim spent his youth years in Dhaka pursuing his academics. Nevertheless, the actor misses boat rides in monsoon and his swim-time with loved ones back in his hometown.

According to the actor, the love from his fans empowers his passion to keep working harder. He plans on keeping up with the momentum in his future releases.

"I am indebted to my fans for loving me wholeheartedly and now, the responsibility is mine to live up to their expectations," he concludes.
