"Joar Bhata", directed by Sumon Anowar, will release on Chorki at 8 pm today. The short film is jointly produced by Chorki and Redpad Studio. The poster of "Joar Bhata" was released on Chorki's official Facebook page and the trailer premiered on their YouTube channel, recently.

The production features Shamol Mawla and Farhana Hamid in lead roles. Shamol Mawla will play the role of a boatman, replicating the dialect, appearance, and nature of ferrymen usually found rowing their boats on Bengal rivers, while "Sadarghat Er Tiger" famed actor Farhana Hamid is seen in the trailer dressed as a bride in her scarlet Banarasi sharee.

The film was shot within two days, before the recent lockdown, in an underdeveloped area in Pubail. "There was no electricity, no proper place for resting and we had to finish shooting within 2 days," shares Shamol Mawla who recently received high praise for his performance in the Hoichoi original thriller series "Mohanagar".

Based in a rural setting, the trailer suggests that the short film will highlight themes such as women empowerment, human relationships, and romance. "Joar Bhata is the second production following the philosophical trilogy of Sadarghat Er Tiger," says director Sumon Anowar regarding his second OTT release. "I always look up to pledge the necessity of women empowerment and I love crafting strong female characters for my productions, and this time the intent was no different."
